Here we are as Mei our tour guide takes this photo of us as we wind down our walking tour of the great wall.

Oh boy! That’s extremely steep as Steven attests from this view while descending to the base of the Great Wall. Steps are worn and somewhat slippery, so one must be very careful not to be too distracted at the incredible views. Keep your hand on the hand rail.

View close to ground level of a main “signal tower,” where smokestacks were burned to alert of enemies ahead, hence “signal” tower. It also served as a cool dry place for me to rest while Steven continued onto the tour in the 90+ degree f heat that day.
